Short Interlude : Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians - Indie Arcade Jump'n'Run

FIRST IMPRESSION

While I still **** my brains out with Terraria, btw. really awesome game if you're into that kind of thing, but, I thought, a coffee morning interlude with Beatbuddy couldn't harm the diversity.

I bought Beatbuddy sometime ago in a Humble Bundle for .... not much. More precisely the Humble Bundle German Edition for 11 €. Now I see Beatbundle alone is, uh, 8.99 € on Steam. OK. All praise to Humble Bundle. Well. Money saved ?! Hurray.

Beatbuddy is made with Unity. Since I am still convinced to use Unity for my Owl Game I am a bit more motivated to look at this game.  How do I know ? Apart from Intel and two other splash screens it shows the Unity splash. And it was a winner of the German Developer Award 2013.

TODO: What exactly is the German Developer Award ?

Hmm.The music in the white start menu sounds like something I can make in a tracker in a few hours. (But when I entered the game, I realized that this choice of music for the main menu actually makes total sense !)

Ah, I love the smell of new Software in the morning. So let's press PLAY.

Tales from an Island, with a lot of legendary characters, a lot of Monkeys and a UI Interface where you think a 3-year old did it.

CURRENT RATING AFTER 1 OF 5 CHAPTERS
FUNNY

Time for another interesting sequel from the last century...eh decade..In 2009 TTG brought this little gem out, in a time when Lucasarts wasn't gulped by a cartoon character with two big black circles on its head.

When I heard the title music, all was lost. Yes, this song kills me ever since I spend my time click'n'riddling through a subuniverse the first time.

So I was really thrilled to get it cheap on GoG. For some reason I wasn't into the 3D Style of it, so I wasn't willing to pay more than five bugs for it. Honestly. Lets be a pirate, arghh matey !

Always gets my spirit up - BF1942 Theme

There is one tune of a computer game, that actually still after 12 years, gets my spirit up most of the time I hear it. Or at least I know when I can use it for that.

Its the title theme for the neat designed intro of Battlefield 1942.

The theme was written by Joel Eriksson. One of the things I needed to do before my hmm car accident ? or whatever kills me was thanking him for that tune. I did, he thanked me for thanking him. Check.

Today Mr. Eriksson has a nice company and an awesome looking studio and is working mostly for the big companys advertisment industry, and as far as I can hear, he know his stuff.

Thank you Mr.Eriksson !
